October 26, 2024 — As part of a series of community-focused initiatives, 200 participants set off from Phnom Penh at 5 AM on Saturday, embarking on the seventh visit to the border area in Northeast Cambodia, encompassing Tbong Khmum, Kratie, and Mondulkiri provinces. The group of enthusiastic travelers arrived at their first stop, Anlong Chrey Development Village in Ponhea Krek District, around 8:15 AM, eager to explore local conditions and border management.

The visit aimed to provide firsthand insights into the geographical situation along the Cambodia-Vietnam border, while also evaluating local socio-economic developments and infrastructure improvements in the area. Attendees were able to witness the living conditions of residents and the significant progress made in various sectors.

After gathering information at Anlong Chrey, the delegation continued to additional sites in Kratie and Mondulkiri, with plans to return to Phnom Penh by evening. This visit marks the seventh in a series launched in early September 2024, bringing the total number of participants across all visits to 1,311. With an increasing momentum of participation, approximately 3,500 individuals have registered for future tours, reflecting growing interest from Cambodians of all backgrounds.

Past visits have been met with enthusiasm from community members, including monks and families, who reported positive and secure experiences. These excursions serve as a unique opportunity for citizens to dispel any uncertainties regarding border issues, transforming them into living testimonies of effective Cambodian border management.

The initiative underscores the Royal Government of Cambodia's commitment to sovereignty, territorial integrity, and social stability, while simultaneously enhancing socio-economic conditions and infrastructure in border communities. The visits seek to improve the livelihoods of local residents, fostering prosperity in these regions.
